Jemima and Oliver, a lovely and kind, always smiling English couple, had an unforgettable country-chic wedding at Villa Aurelia, one of the top wedding venues in Rome.
They knew exactly what they wanted and all the little details to be included in their wedding. The colour palette was simple, yet perfect for Villa Aurelia: green, white and yellow for a country vibe; black for a touch of elegance. The planning was such a smooth, fun process and it was a true pleasure for me to help them turn their vision into reality.
Villa Aurelia offers different options for the various parts of the wedding celebrations, as you can read in my detailed blog on this amazing wedding venue in Rome. We chose the Italian Gardens as the ideal spot for the ceremony, with Villa Aurelia as a backdrop, just perfect for amazing pictures. The symbolic ceremony was celebrated by the groom’s aunt, making it all the more special and personal, with a single violin playing during the bride’s entrance. I particularly appreciated the “Unplugged ceremony” sign which should really be a must at every wedding.
A lovely cocktail hour followed in the Fountain Gardens, where guests could enjoy delicious small bites passed around on trays, a show cooking of fried food (sage leaves and mini arancini among my favourite!) and of course, an Aperol Spritz cart.
With the sun setting, it was time to invite the guests to find their seat at the tables, while grabbing a mini limoncello bottle on their way to the dinner area, elegantly set up with round tables in the iconic Lemon Trees Garden. The newlyweds made their entrance to a crowd of happy guests waving napkins. Time for speeches, laughters, thank-you words, a few tears, unforgettable emotions…
And when the 3-course dinner was over, the pastry chef was ready for the popular show cooking of the traditional Italian wedding cake: the Millefeuille! The newlyweds took part in the creation and all the guests gather around, taking pictures and having fun.
The party kicked off in the unique Sala Aurelia with a live band playing and the couple having their first dance. The open bar and Italian desserts buffet was available for the rest of the evening. The bride changed into her dancing dress with another amazing pair of shoes. And she was ready to throw her bouquet!
It was sunny, warm day, one of those famous “ottobrate romane” (Roman October days) Rome is famous for, so I couldn’t really ask for more, and we all had such a great, unforgettable time at this pretty unique country-chic wedding.
